The short version: this site collects very little, sells nothing about you, and everything it does collect is listed below in plain language.
Analytics
I Crave Anime uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read. Our site starts with Google’s analytics and advertising consent-mode defaults denied. It loads Google Analytics only after Google’s consent service reports analytics permission as granted or explicitly not applicable. If that service is unavailable or its answer is unclear, Google Analytics stays off. When enabled, Google Analytics can set cookies and record usage data such as pages visited, approximate location and device type.
Use “Privacy and cookie settings” in the footer to request Google’s consent controls. If the service is unavailable, the control tells you; it cannot promise to open a message that Google has not supplied. Opening settings pauses Analytics, and withdrawing permission disables our custom events and Google Analytics measurement. You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Cloudflare performance analytics
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which automatically adds a real-user monitoring (RUM) beacon to measure page performance and usage. It reports information such as page and referrer URLs, page-load timings, Core Web Vitals, browser and operating-system information. Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free and says it does not use local storage or fingerprint individuals. It is separate from Google Analytics and does not wait for Google’s consent callback.
Our Cloudflare setting is “Enable, excluding visitor data in the EU.” Cloudflare implements this exclusion based on the data center a visitor connects to, covering EU/EEA data centers and additional nearby locations listed in its documentation. This is not a guarantee based on a visitor’s country of residence. We use Cloudflare’s automatic beacon, not an additional manually installed copy. Newsletter
If you sign up for email updates, your email address is stored in our self-hosted newsletter system and used to send the updates you requested. An email-delivery provider transmits the messages. New subscriptions require email confirmation. You can use the unsubscribe controls provided with newsletter messages or contact us for help. A confirmation request is not a confirmed subscription.
The signup form uses a hidden anti-spam field and Cloudflare Turnstile to help stop automated abuse. Cloudflare processes device and request data for that security check. When Analytics is permitted, the form records accepted-request or failure events, not confirmation of a subscription. These events contain no email address or challenge token. Events that occur while Analytics is off are not saved for later transmission.
Affiliate links
Some links to products such as manga, Blu-rays, and merchandise are affiliate links. New commercial links use Amazon; older articles may still contain clearly disclosed eBay affiliate links. If you buy something through a commissioned link, this site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those retailers may set their own cookies when you click; their privacy policies govern what happens on their side.
Advertising
The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites. You can adjust ad personalization at Google Ad Settings or opt out of third-party cookies entirely; the content here doesn’t change either way.
What we don’t do
No selling of personal data. No data brokers. No reader accounts.
